Chain Data Retrieval in Wallets and DApps

As researchers from Ruhr University Bochum, a federally funded institution in Germany, we are investigating how wallets and decentralized applications (DApps) in the Bitcoin and Ethereum ecosystems retrieve chain data. To complete our studies, we are seeking Bitcoin and Ethereum wallet and DApp developers to serve as partners for 40-minute interviews.

If you are interested in participating, please complete this short questionnaire and book an interview slot at the end.

Requirements for participation:

  • You have had a hands-on technical role (writing code, or making architecture or dependency decisions) on a wallet or DApp for Bitcoin or Ethereum.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are comfortable completing a short survey and taking part in an interview in English.
  • You can join a video call from a quiet place, using a device with a working microphone.
  • You consent to the interview being audio-recorded. The recording is transcribed, pseudonymized, and the audio deleted afterward.

Benefits:

  • You will receive a 65 EUR digital voucher (redeemable at a choice of retailers, provided by Huuray (https://huuray.com/)) within 4 weeks of the interview.
  • After the study, we will send you a summary of the findings.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at inf-infsec+interviews@rub.de.
